CIEA News:
Available bi-monthly by email and quarterly by postal mail. Includes the latest health information, research, events and workshop dates, as well as minutes from relevant tribal, local, state, and federal meetings.

Advocacy Calendar: Also available bi-monthly by email and quarterly by postal mail. Includes announcements of upcoming meetings, workshops and opportunities to advocate on behalf of your family and your people.

Website: Includes information about who we are, summaries of current programs, materials, services, resources, public information sharing (blogs), links to relevant websites, other mercury related programs and agencies and opportunities for involvement.

Community workshops:
For tribal members from youth to elders, tribal representatives, health care providers, and local community-based organizations to bring together traditional, scientific, legal, health and community member experts to share information, create coalitions and develop strategies. Held locally, regionally and statewide in participation with host tribal communities. These contain panels, round table discussions, and train-the-trainers exercises.

The following workshops are available Summer 2007:

• Effects of Mercury: Environment, ecology, the human body and culture
• Eating Fish Safely: Including local advisories, and culturally appropriate “risk reduction”
• Coalition Building Tools: For tribal representatives, tribal members, health programs and community based organizations
• Cleanup, Restoration and Methylation: New science and research updates
• Regulatory and Legal Remedies: State and Federal laws, case precedence and examples of their use
• Next Steps: Solutions and strategy development

The California Indian Environmental Alliance is dedicated to the creation of organizational systems, policies and programs to insure we remain stable, sustainable, transparent and responsive to California tribal needs as we continue to provide program services.
