About Us

CIEA is a non-profit working in partnership with Tribes and Communities. Projects include strategic planning, providing trainings for Tribes and communities and support for the protection of cultural and subsistence tribal uses, rebalancing forest and watersheds, and planning for climate resiliency. Our goal is to provide the information and tools for California Indian Tribes and Californian communities to address environmental issues and protect their own continuance by avoiding toxins in traditional foods and to train future generations to be environmental stewards.

Programs highlight best practices, resource opportunities and collaborative partnerships of Tribes and Communities with local, state, and federal government agencies.

For current programs see our Tribal Self Advocacy page.
